CASY was used to accurately determine cell count and viability of target tumor cells exposed to various cytostatic drugs, potentially supporting chemotherapy of peritoneal metastasis




The feasibility of CASYcell analyzer was evaluated regarding evaluation of iPSc viability and proliferation during cell propagation using Accutase and EDTA treatment. We found single iPS cells after Accutase treatment, while EDTA treatment developed clusters.


Ecotoxicology Testing using CASY

Phytotoxic effects of chemical pollutants are often performed using cell growth assays with unicellular green algae. In this study, the toxicity of the antibiotic ciprofloxacin to the green algae Raphidocelis subcapitata was investigated using CASY.


The cell cycle of R. subcapitata consists of three phases: growth of the mother cell, cell division
(which includes two divisions of the nucleus), and the release of four autospores. Over a period of 24h, the cell number and size distribution of a synchronized culture was tracked, revealing phases of cell growth and phases of proliferation.


CASY was used for evaluation of the cytotoxicity of anti-cancer drug combinations. Novel polychemotherapy regimens were defined using CASY Chemosensitivity Assays.


CASY’s capabilities for accurate cell counting, and importantly for straightforward cell volume and aggregate measurement supports standardization of hemocompatibility experiments.
