A New Way to Monitor Virus-Mediated Cytopathogenicity

Recent peer-reviewed studies of oncolytic viruses and cancer vaccines have demonstrated that the xCELLigence Real-Time Cell Analysis (RTCA) system is a powerful tool for evaluating both virus concentration and cytotoxicity kinetics using a simple workflow with fast read-out and high
reproducibility. The assay overcomes many of the limitations of single point plaque assays, and provides direct evidence that RTCA can provide a comprehensive and reliable evaluation of viral cytopathogenicity.

Studying Bacterial Biofilms Using Cellular Impedance 

This work demonstrates the utility of xCELLigence RTCA for basic and applied applications in biofilm research. The protocol described here involves substantially less work than traditional assays: bacteria are simply seeded into an E-Plate, after which data acquisition is continuous and automatic. The real-time nature of the data makes it easy to make quantitative comparisons between different strains and treatments, with both the bacterial cells and their EPS being
evaluable.

Tumor Cell Killing by T Cells: Quantifying the Impact of a CD19-BiTE Using Real-Time Cell Analysis, Flow Cytometry, and Multiplex Immunoassay

In this Application Note, the enhancement effects of CD19-BiTEs have been evaluated using three distinct assays. While target cell death was monitored using an RTCA impedance assay and a flow cytometry-based cytolysis assay, secretion of cytokines and cytolytic proteins was quantified in a bead-based multiplex flow cytometry assay.
