The webinar will feature Dr. James L. Sherley, M.D., Ph.D., President and CEO of stem cell biotechnology company Asymmetrex®. Asymmetrex® recently developed the first technology – called kinetic stem cell (KSC) counting – for rapid determination of the stem cell-specific fraction and dosage of preparations of therapeutic tissue stem cells, including hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for different human tissue sources. The specificity and accuracy of KSC counting has been validated against the SCID mouse repopulating cell assay for HSCs. With the input of a 72-hour cell culture CASY cell count, rapid KSC counting computer algorithms provide the same HSC-specific fraction data as a SCID mouse analysis, which requires 30-40 mice, 16 weeks, and extensive flow cytometry analyses. The same counting capability extends to stem cells in any perinatal or postnatal human tissue. OLS now makes this capability available for the first time in its new CASY-PLUS package.
